Experimenting with the possibilities of creating moving images as interior design, Ilic created ‘Branches’ in 2002. He envisaged Branches being made available in a multitude of colour tones to compliment colour schemes for interiors.

Filming Branches at Arnold Circus, Shoreditch, London, the artist created a master image which he then graded to produce seven tinted versions. The Branches series was then encoded onto DVD and sold through the Tate Modern, record stores and art shops. The work was used for the purposes it was intended and appeared on an episode of Grand Designs, a UK series about architectural design and renovation.
